MQing tear takes some faction work, that's what you are paying for.
This is the crux of the biscuit.

Someone with a tear can't just roll up and turn it in for you at the drop of a hat. The person handing in the tear has to have the appropriate faction as well (Which gets reset when you do the final turn in). That's why people charge so much for it.

I wouldn't define the above as "not wanting to play EverQuest" at all. I'm not saying dude should just get handed a tear, but let's be real, you're making a ridiculous statement here.

Anyway, JBB is arguably a better investment for a shaman than their epic. Torpor certainly is. Their epic is Earthcaller, not Swiftwind.
You crazy, JBB is great from 45-50, but I'd rather be clicking epic or recasting root than JBB. JBB still has it's uses but I'd sell it for plat towards Torpor in a heart beat.

I feel like the creation of this thread was taken as i'm begging for a tear. Which isn't the case. If that were the case my thread would have looked something like this:

"Hey i want a childs tear for my epic, idk if you can give me one please do"

I feel like I did a decent job explaining my story and why I don't necessarily want to join a raid guild specifically to get a tear then leave and retreat back to my guild. That's the definition of "loot and scoot" if you are unfamiliar with the term.

The game has been out and people raiding fear for quite a long time. I was taking a shot in the dark with making a post to see if someone had a tear they didn't plan on selling OR if there was a guild that doesn't have an immediate need for one while doing Fear for other items.

I really like the guys post about "if the devs wanted epics to be easy..." since you see 80% of rogues no matter the level with their epic and monks with theirs, and clerics.. you get the picture? Epics don't seem to be a big deal on P99 so I tried my luck on the forums.

For me joining a guild and working with them to get your epic IS EverQuest. We're not just talking about some droppable loot from Sebilis: these are the best primary slot items in the game. Unlike the JBB or even Torpor you should have to have a guild to get them. The quest to attain an epic has motivated countless anti-social players (myself included) to discover the fun of joining a guild, and I think the same should be true on P99.

I'm mainly just annoyed at the whole epic-MQ-for-sale culture. Epics should be a real accomplishment when they're finally gotten, and MQ-ing sorta cheapens that.

heres what made me sad about this post

I have a tear rotting in my bank but nothing in this post offers a way for myself to get the faction done quickly for you

you simply expect the person holding the tear to have the faction 'done' which is not always the case

so meh

heres another idea:

organize a Public/Pick up Plane of Fear Raid and see if you can garner enough support to down some Golems

state that the first Tear will go to you for organizing but the next ones are unclaimed so I am sure some other shamans would be interested as well as other druid, necromancer, wizard, paladin, shadowknight, monk and rangers

to bad cleric and enchanter armor is in hateplane, because you probably need to find some for this

I think this is the same boat most people with a random tear in their inventory are in. I wouldn't mind giving it away quite honestly, I've had the silly thing in my bank for well over a year now. I just can't be assed to stop being lazy and grind out the faction for someone. It's not a hard faction grind by any means when you're a shaman leveling up in that range but it's way more of an annoying headache when you're sitting around 60 and get nothing out of the grind other than faction.

Not even close. Torpor is, though.
