First time I twinked was a full set of banded, kite shield and a mino axe for my SK. I felt so cool hanging out at the newbie log in Nektulos.

Honestly, don't hate me I'm a good person. But the first time I twinked myself was after a super bad hate raid, pre Vellious.. maybe pre kunark even. Anywho, yea we had this terrible raid night and I was in a shit mood.

I played on Rallos and hated PKs with every fiber of my being, but that night I snapped.

I created a wizard, named him Illumdian cus it was the ugliest name I could think of, picked the nastiest high elf face I could find, the one that's all scrunched up and crappy. Dropped a Mithral Quill (the fastest weapon at the time) in a convienent spot to pick up with my alt and ran out into gFey and kicked the shit out if everyone until the zone emptied. I became the hugest level 4 pker in gFey and was pretty notorious, I had the best hp gear at the time after a while becoming addicted to it. It wasn't much, but enough to pull from my inventory when I was at 1% hp and I would die, preventing anyone from getting loot rights.

My roomate came home and was like 8O 'what are you doing!' And I just stared at him like a Jedi would his master when he turns to the dark side.

well depends the era of classic we are talking about.

In very vanilla EQ, pre-Kunark, it was most certainly something you were not proud of.

I remember grouping with warriors with Yaks and shit at Orc Highway pre-Kunark and thinking it was the most badass thing ever. It was like free exp.

I played on Rallos when Tallon was down. I loved ganging up on the twinks. I even got a skull-shaped barbute off a level 5 twink and then I used to do the pull from slot trick too. Also on Tallon My buddy and I had lvl 24 rogue/pally twinks that murdered groups in Highpass routinely. Slime coated harpoon / Arbitor's Combine Greatsword early kunark when those were top-end. It was redic.

Haha I used to love it when the level 1s-4s would get raids together to try to kill me it was so fun.

Never experienced any kind of bashing on Nameless, either. Everybody I ran into were either twinks or twinking, even by late 1999.

I honestly can't remember any twink bashing on Nameless either. Pretty sure our server was pretty mild in that regards.

EC had Beardo, and LoS/Remedy were pretty pleasant top end guilds in terms of friendly?(that I remember)

I think the only rivalry that I can remember were guilds like Sanctuary until they crumbled early velious, and with the Taiwanese population.

This is exactly why I call EQ the D&D of MMO's (that was a lot of abbreviations) becuse it reminds me so much of this:

and the other thing that really makes me smile.. when you walk out to a ledge or something, and you get a text prompt: 'the wind howls as you approach the ledge'.. its a video game! you can literately make the wind howl if you want lol!!... but the result of that makes me feel like I'm plaing a pen and paper Rpg with my friends in high school again.
