A Letter to the Project 1999: Red Community

Dear Staff,

please understand that while this server does need the playerbase to shape up to provide a better experience to the new playerbase, the GM's have also had a direct correlation to the dwindling population as well. I along with my friends all quit the server due to the actions and inactions of the GM staff, not the griefing and shit talk the players did.

I would post quotes that would reaffirm that new players would be turned off with what and how the GM's interact with the playerbase on the board, but it will just be detrimental to server growth also. Please don't take this as a jab, I did like the server, however server growth is a 2 way street and the other side of the road needs to be addressed as well.

I like how Derubael makes a post asking people to put aside differences and try to make this box less toxic and the first two posts from Azrael people do the exact opposite. Not hard to see where the problem is.

So keep your feud going but let's do it in a way that it doesn't alienate new people trying to get going on red. A little shit-talking is healthy but let's not light up ooc/forums 24/7. Be a good sport, win or lose. And give some noobs a minute of your time and an item or two from the bank.

Used to use the druid every single day helping and giving away tons of items to new players but right now I'm focused on getting myself 60. I've met a lot of new players along the way while leveling and there is hope. All I have is the armor on my back and a borrowed fungi. Wish I could help new players like I used to.

Also anyone that says my ooc is toxic is a moron. My smack talking brings out my competitive side and I've never said anything out of line.

I for one am cool with setting aside differences. Quido would you like to be frenemies with me?

Az and Nihi are the shepherds for the new players and these changes soon to come and I don't foresee the toxicity of certain players lessening in any way. This is not a video game this is the most important aspect of some people's lives. Grudges, feuds, reputations, that's all they have for social interaction and meaning. Add on the number of low lvl twinks that log on simply to grief new people off the box and you have a strong barrier to entry.

Hopefully there will be a big enough change for fresh faces to take the dive and swim in the toxic cesspool that this server has become. Honestly without someone with power getting their hands dirty and cleaning this filth with their own two hands I don't have much faith in forward progress.

When you pull weeds you don't just clip off a leaf or two. You pull them up from the roots so something fresh and useful can grow.
