A Letter to the Project 1999: Red Community

Dear Project 1999 Red,

Soon we will be rolling out changes to the Project 1999 Red server. We feel these changes, along with the proper promotion, is exactly what Red 99 needs to increase it's population and create a more fun and exciting box for everyone to enjoy. We will be heavily supporting this movement both in-game, and on the forums, but there is only so much that we as a staff can do to help the box - the rest is up to you!

This means working together as a community to ensure the server is fun for everyone, including new players. There is a line that needs to be drawn when it comes to 'talking shit'. We aren't here to babysit the server; a lot of this change will be up to you, the players, to follow and enforce. This is a fantastic and fun community, so let's show that side to the new people who will be coming here. Take your old feuds, hatred, and anger, and set it aside to allow this box to flourish. Even the most bitter enemies can find a begrudging respect and meet on the common ground of fostering a new playerbase.

First impressions count. Particularly on a server like this, where the population is small and the environment means everything to new players. Take a few moments to introduce yourself to new characters you run by in Kelethin. Explain a few tips and tricks you've learned along the way. Be aware of how your behavior on the forums reflects on those around you. I know many of you strive to do this already - encourage others to do the same.

Guild leaders and officers will play a huge role in making sure this box thrives. Pull your membership as a whole aside and let them know what the expectations are for their conduct. You are in a unique position to impose sanctions on players who step out of line both in game and on the forums. Lead by example, and show your guilds exactly what needs to be done to foster a thriving population. Let's show everyone what the best Red has to offer can be.

Show Project 1999 that the PvP community is filled with more laughter, tears, and excitement than they could ever hope to achieve somewhere else. Show them the intensity, the elation, the heart racing, adrenaline pumping, whirlwind of chaos and imperfection that makes Everquest PvP great. Show them that this is their new home. Welcome them with a Lamentation to the face, followed by an offer of friendship, or the firm handshake of respect given to a worthy opponent.

Unite under this common goal; that we will not let the legacy of EverQuest PvP be lost to the ages.

<3 always,
Deru and Sirks

Please be more proactive in bans of losers like relapse40. The forums are the first taste of Red many will see, and immersed sociopaths like that turn many off.
