my theory is that the Red server development forked right before they implemented changes to fix the stability of Kithicor on blue, and the fix was never copied over to Red.

Blue used to have Kithicor problems, before red was even around. It was the Day/Night script that caused all the problems.

It's not. Both servers use the same code and binaries.
