So why was code never handed down from server to server and people have to fix the same bugs over and over?

All of the guildwars code was ported into eqemu, much of our loz/rz code changes have been handed in, hell were still trying to get someone to port in a diff we have for MQ2 exploits right now. Just no one will do it.
Much of the VZ/TZ code was passed out and looked at and what was worth it was ported in from what I can tell, and remember. The big issue is once its in the main code someone goes and fucks with it, and breaks everything. So next box up has to fix all the crap that someone borked. We had to fix countless bugs that we had fixed and ported in with the guildwars source this way.

Which saddens me. Hacking is a huge hurdle to any servers attempting pvp with item loot, which is severely lessened with the detection methods and staff involvement here. I don't feel any other existing emu teams could have pulled it off like this one could have.
