It does surprise me that FE merged with TMO and pushed out some of the TMO old guard.

As far as I know, nobody was forced out. I think they promoted/demoted officers based on activity to provide a viable management structure. However, lots of dramas happened afterwards and continues. People holding non-grudges as grudges.
