Check out Green Man Gaming for the sale. Just google it, I don't remember the website link off the tip of my noggin.

It also sucks that the their was a sizable amount of people who have played Morrowind to Skyrim were always asking for coop mode and instead got this generic MMO in the ES universe.
That was what I was thinking when I first played the beta. I just wanted The Elder Scrolls VI with co-op. I would pay a monthly fee for that if there were occasional updates. And that's one of MANY reasons why I've been a big detractor of the game after several beta sessions. It was so generic, they've taken this wonderful universe and made it boring. The story, the characters, the combat, and worst of all, the quests.

Elder Scrolls games of the past had me wanting to do the quests not because of some reward, but because they were so damned interesting! Well-written with characters I loved or hated. There were only a couple that ever failed to be completely amazing (a couple of the ones to work your way up in the guilds, every guild in most of the games had like 1 quest that wasn't that stellar). Call me crazy, but the "use this item 5 times on mob type x" and "kill 10 of mob type y" quests just aren't fun for me.

Another huge disappointment was the removal of elements from previous ES games that brought me a lot of joy, like invising for more than 2 and a half seconds, not being able to pickpocket, not being able to steal, no criminal system, not being able to collect books, and so on. It was almost like, being a bad guy or being a REAL rogue type wasn't even an option. Why have that as an archetype if you're going to remove all the elements that make playing it cool?

So far, they've failed to live up to the spirit or name of The Elder Scrolls series. They've also completely failed to do anything new, unique, or interesting with the game. They're not going to make any huge changes to the game now. Whole point of beta is to get shit working so that when the game goes live, it's not a horror-story repeat of shit like the Anarchy Online launch. F2P by 2015 if what I've played is any indication of what the final product is going to be like.

Maybe that Warhammer 40k game that's being developed will be good. /sigh

Lol do you know how hard you would get flamed for saying this to the fanboys? This was such a great anecdote on this game and the best part is a sizable amount of people are deluded into this think is some ground-breaking innovative achievement in the genre.

At this point it's posts like the ones you referenced that I'm ignoring. If you didn't research the game beyond playing it for an hour or two during a beta and dismissing it then you are going to make posts like these. If you do not know what game development is like then you're going to make posts that are like this. The fact is, game development does not start with a list of features that you cut down to make a game, it starts simple, you come up with an idea and flesh it out. They've also said they want to put in criminality and morality into the game later, and I am sure they will make a system for it.

Fact is, the PVP is robust. The character builds are insanely deep. I've already explained this before but the small 1v2-2v2-1v1 encounters are going to be pretty brilliant. The big sieges are going to be pretty fun, and I'm excited to get into the game. I also saw some high end veteran dungeon content that was released and they look pretty straight forward but very difficult. Also, they are making some really interesting choices with your side progression. If you want me to, I can go deeper into the systems but I don't have time right now. All I can say is that the info is out there.

So can someone explain the team system to me? Especially in regard to communication between people on enemy teams. It looks like it's gonna be a very "soft" teams system, with guilds being crossteam and accounts not being limited to a single team. So can you talk to the bad guys?
I think it has already been said like 8 times that you can talk to the other teams if you know the person. Communication/Guild invites are usually done with /whisper @AccountName so if you know their account name you can whisper them. You just cannot group with them. They can be a member of your guild, but they could not do dungeons with you. Not sure what other info you're looking for Faerie but people have told you the answer to this question a bunch of times now :P

Criminality was an essential component of ES 3-5 (haven't played 1 or 2, personally), and is a planned feature in this one? Would you drop 60 bucks + a $15 a month sub fee for things that they plan to put in the game at some unspecified point in the future? I played the game for far more than an hour or two and honestly couldn't wait to put it down and play anything else. In that same span of time the other ES games managed to hook me. Kept hoping the game would get better, but I reached a point where I couldn't take it anymore.

What's so "deep" about these character builds? Skill morphs have been done in other games, the acquisition of new skills through quests/exploration has been done in plenty of MMOs, and skills related to weapons/armor are also nothing new. Then there's the fact that you get a whopping 6 abilities to use at any one time. This is an Elder Scrolls game in name only. It's more of the same, repackaged with Tamriel textures, and people will buy it because of the name. It's going to be Star Wars The Old Republic all over again. I wanted to be blinded by fanboyism, even if my enjoyment was purely because it was an ES game, but it was too bland, far too much was wrong. I really hope that when it goes F2P I can fire it up again and be pleasantly surprised.

I'm specifically wondering how communication works between enemies that don't know each other. Like the first time you run into someone.

Did you even read my post? I've said I used to be a huge supporter of this game and really wanted it to be great. I also said I've been in every single Beta since September, got above level 20 did all 3 Ebonheart dungeons and played a sizable amount of PvP. So before you make assumptions maybe you should actually read what people write? While the high point of this game is the PvP its just a rehash of DAoC (which is to be expected since it is some of the same people) and Planetside's territory system.

As in not your post. I said I am mostly ignoring the posts from people that are upset that the game isn't living up to their expectations, when it is clear to me they haven't played the game. He just asked me about how the builds are "deep" at all, quoting deep like they are not. If you haven't played the game enough to see that the builds in PVP are incredibly deep then you haven't given it a real chance. So I was referring to him, not you.
