Default re: Message Boards in Qeynos

I can't recall a time in which those bulletin boards were actively used from 99 to the present...in fact, I think they disabled them on live. A lot of people I know who played from day 1 didn't even know they existed.

Do any of you folks remember reading, or using the message boards in Qeynos?

Why rehash the thread which already answered this.

Yes, they used to work.

Yes, they stopped working after a certain point (Luclin or earlier).

No, they won't ever work here.

Relevant thread is here:
http://www.project1999.org/forums/showthread.php?t=7503

Page 3 has all the depressing info. I mean, Reiker's post in that thread is on Page 2, but it's as snarky and vague as his post is in this thread.

Well that part is true and isn't vague, I was referring more to why "they used to work but stopped" implies that it could never work here. I mean, the other thread explains all that, but if one were to simply read your post in this thread, it isn't clear that it's more or less technically impossible.

Your post in that thread actually explains more, but doesn't explain why the fact that it stopped working pre-DODH implies that there is no way to make it work with DODH clients.

So there. Vague.

Edit: Just realized that I too was snarky and vague in my previous post. Yes, it took me that long.

I don't feel the need to explain every single detail, people should realize that we're not working with a classic client and there are many things that are no longer supported and/or changed.

One of the first things I did when I started here was check the BB in highhold to see if they were working. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
