I'm fairly sure I'm one of the offenders but I'll throw in my two cents. Going to these boards I think it's fairly safe to say that an overabundance of moderation would be met with hostility. Folks seem to enjoy the general NSFW environment here and that's cool but I'm with you some things are just plain offensive to me personally, when those images/sigs pop up I just use adblock. It's quick and easy, in your case I would recommend just disabling all sigs and avatars at work, it's just safer that way. I realize you're aware of this option, I just think heavier moderation would go over like a lead balloon.

Yes it would get moved to RnF because the server chat forum is for chatting about the server. I would be VERY surprised to find anyone under 18 playing this emulator, so the chance of a child seeing one of these NSFW sigs is extremely minimal at worst. I'd be willing to guess they probably don't use the forums, as well. If you're surfing forums at work, I'd say use the options available to you. Would also say, is that what you should be doing on your downtime at work? If you want to see sigs, wait til you get home. The lack of extreme moderation is one of the things that makes this forum entertaining to read, otherwise it'd be one well-written RP post every three months, new players introducing themselves, players talking about quests/NPCs/classes, and raid/bug discussion. If those are the only things you talk about, what could possibly be funny in a sig for you to click on? These forums are much more than that.

EverQuest has always been a social game, and as long as the game has been around, forums have been a part of that socialization. Everyone who played back in the day that wasn't an adult then, is an adult now, even if we don't act like it all the time. That's like when you're at a bar that serves food and its 10pm and someone brings in their kid because the place also serves appetizers, so you and the group of people who were laughing, cussing, and sharing raunchy stories suddenly have to censor yourselves because the mother of the year and little junior crapshispants will be offended by the content of your conversation.

Think of it like this, you could go eat bar food on your lunch break, but if your boss sees you at the bar, even if you're not drinking, would it go well for you? Use the options available and let adults be, man.
