Props for coming clean and making an effort, but I don't think anyone believes you would have done this if there wasn't a thread publicly shaming your name and guild. People get second chances though. It SHOULD be possibly for people to get themselves off a black list if they truly come around. I just can't stand how people do this kind of stuff, but also the trader needs to take more responsibility as well.

And to trivialize and put this guy down for caring about all the weapons and money he lost while you are here on these forums and playing the same game is ridiculous. For some people this is the one game we really invest in (or even if it's another) so why should it not be important to us? This game takes A LOT of time and effort to aquire things yourself. I sure as hell don't want to instigate this entire issue and would rather leave it buried but I find it interesting that so many people can give their psychoanalysis and personal opinion on something (and someone) when they may not know all the details of the situation.

In no way am I saying Toga was right but after being presented with the true appearance of the scenario and inevitable outcome from his guild he chose to do the right thing - definitely speaks to the power of positive guild influence and reputation in the community. Even if the post had not been started I'd like to think (going the rarely trodden opportunistic path here unlike so many others) that he would have come to his senses and done the right thing.

Now consequences have been issued and the victim got his items back. Both sides have lessons to be learned here...

EQ is a community based game where trusting others and asking others for help/support is paramount. Not punishing this kind of bullshit either socially or with bans is asking for it to perpetuate. All I've read about here is how people get banned for fucking up. This guy fucked up. Whether he came clean or not. The robber doesn't get off because he cops guilt.

Idk, I'm just saying. I don't like the idea of giving a pass to someone who up and decides to fuck someone else over, blatantly. And then is coaxed into repentance for fear of blacklisting.
