I'll second the notion that trying to break pet or blur mob at low hp to get 100% of the exp is a waste of time. Especially at low lvls. It costs FAR too much mana and takes too much time to break and re-charm pets or memblur (multiple times?) each mob and nuke it. Better off just killing the damn thing getting your 50% exp and moving to the next mob. If you've got a good pet it'll be tearing through stuff anyway and you can likely kill 2 mobs in the time it takes to kill 1 the tricky way and you'll spend a lot less mana to do it.

Alternatively you could just find somebody to duo with which I highly recommend. Many classes make good duos with encs and completely eliminates the issue of pets taking your exp. Just mem shallow breath and tag everything with it and you get all the exp and can save your mana for when charm breaks to mez/root/recharm/whatever. Enc/Enc is an extremely potent duo if you have good synergy and play well. I do it with my friend all the time but it helps a lot that we use Vent to coordinate stuff. I don't think it'd be nearly as good without voice comm. Another very good one is Cleric. Druid/Sha both work decently too.

Note: I'm not 100% sure the Shallow Breath part is necessary. Somebody told me even if you're duoing that if the pet does 100% dmg it takes exp so I've always tagged everything with lvl 1 nuke just to be safe. Maybe someone else can confirm for sure if this is the case or not?
