Well you better roll it ahead of time because you want to be 30-35 come Velious! My Troll SK is about to ding 30 and even with a 68% xp penalty it wasn't that bad... I'm telling ya a good group and you are just fine. EQ is just slow as shit no matter what you do from troll sk to 50% bonus XP. If you enjoy your character you don't notice the penalty nearly as much in my experience.
