There is already a working log map recorder called EQ map viewer that the GMs have approved. Though it is self only, can't see other players but I know there are people who use similar programs to keep track of their friends/party/guild that run it also afaik its all legal as long as it isn't an actual hack. Reading logs is not cheating, it is taking a manual /loc or macro press reading it into log parsing it into a map to account for your location in that zone.

yeah man and weapon swapping hotkeys are totally legit because they just click somewhere on your screen and don't inject themselves into the client

a crazy guy in TMO (Loly) already half-developed a system like this
it's unfortunate that his code is some of the most convoluted I've ever seen

So I guess...
Software reads /loc info, puts it into map, and could also give /loc info to friends map clients with internet powers. Also has keylogger to get account name and password. Sounds solid. | ||

could write a script to upload user's /loc to an atlas-like site.. could be fun for coordinating guild events, have everyones dots posted on map in community site
