Has anyone ever seen Scorpion Meat?

Spent another couple hours in FoB tonight trying to find Scorpion Meat. Got a few Iksar to help out (thanks Skorpion and the group at the ramp!). Between all of us there must have been 100 scorpions in the slaughter. Big ones, small ones, giant ones, heart-stinging ones... if "scorpion" was in the name, it died. Through it all, nobody found one meat.

Someone in OOC said they had "just vendored one" but I think I was being trolled. Successful troll, too, because I stayed there for 2 more hours -- initially very excited at the promise of scorpion meat in my near future -- only to have my excitement slowly fade and finally settle into a wash of disappointment and boredom.

Scouring the internet (to the best of my abilities), the most recent mention of "scorpion meat" along with the word "everquest" seems to be from ~2001.

On the Allakhazam Baking page, it looks like "scorpion meat" was first mentioned in the comments in April 2001. So, that means that come-Velious, scorpion meat should drop and it should also be bake-able.

But the real question is: did the recipe/meat exist before Velious?

If anyone has good web-sleuthing skills and could help find an earlier reference to "scorpion meat" and "everquest" that would be awesome! If I can prove that it should exist, I can create a bug thread for it.

Just a theory, but I'm betting not since the scorpion sandwich has stats. Stat foods and food durations were added in April 2001.

Oh god don't say that. No stat foods = I kill myself IRL.

Pretty sure the client just makes it look like we get benefit from stat food. It's really all in our heads, and Devs have been aware of this for a while.
