Agreed, taking on a force big enough to compete isn't going to allow guild leaders to be as selective as they would like. The important thing is to keep a roster that is big enough and preserves a fair and fun atmosphere for the guild. Sektors is a good guy and is a good addition to any guild any way you look at it. Anything will be brought up to hurt a guilds image though, it is inevitable.

Heartbrand and many others did their part to try to change the server in a way to not cater to zerg guilds. It didn't happen so you deal with what you have.

The most important thing is how the guild leaders act in game. Talk is cheap on these boards.

I have nothing against very large guilds on this server, because the pop really only supports two large guilds. I have removed plenty of people from the guild. However, I don't remove everything single person that someone posts was "doing something naughty" without proof, that wouldn't be fair to the member, AND not every action is an instant guild remove. Some actions are DKP penalties, "raid suspensions," stern warnings etc.

I do my best with Red Dawn, it's a shit load of work. I try to be on top of everything, but there's only so much one person can do. Hate on me all you want for it, /shrug.

Yeah sorry I don't mean to throw Sektor under the bus, I don't know anything about the guy. I just see the inconsistencies and it bothers me. He may be a great dude suffering from slander and in that case, sorry Sektor!

I just want to be part of a guild that actually wants to play EQ with others (including pvping against them) in a way that doesn't involve figuring out who the largest asshole is. I would assume that anyone playing on this server at this point is some sort of adult level human being. It's pretty hard to tell at times though...

Also, sorry Heartbrand I could have approached this nag a lot more constructively in private with you instead. I don't envy the job you're trying to do at all and I think overall you've got a cool head. Just... learn to recognize when your blood is rising and try to muzzle yourself a little when it is. "Kill them with kindness" if you will.

I get rustled on these forums at times when people take shit to real life and want to do propaganda wars. If you look @ my posts, almost all of them are on the defensive. Rarely, if ever, will you see me start a thread such as "NIHILUM R SCUM BAGS" or "WATCH OUT 4 NIZZAR" or go in ooc "FUCK NIHILUM LOLO!L!O!L." Almost every post from me about Nihilum or Nizzar is a defensive post responding to accusations and what not. This guild is not about them. It's unfortunate their strategy is to make it into an us vs. them type of scenario, but I guess that's the way the box is.

Both guilds are large, bad apples sneak in. I do my best to remove them or speak with them to correct behavior when I can, but again, I'm not omnipotent.

Both Red Dawn and Nihilum will be zergs. Nihilum and Red Dawn are both full of Azrael, Holocaust, Nihilum, etc. guild members no matter what tag they sport at this moment.

When I pick a guild the most important thing to think about is what guild leader do you like the most. They will dictate what actions you take and you don't want to be forced to play a way you don't want to. That is my opinion, there are obviously other factors.

- Joining up because friends are already in one of the guilds

- Joining because there are things going on during your play schedules that you can participate in

- You want the path of least resistance to get to the content you want to do

- Wanting to build something and be a part of something from the ground up vs being a part of the current dominate guild

Depending on what is important to you decides what guild you join.
