This. Im in treatment for alcohol. My roommate/best friend is developing a meth problem who is needing/going to get help. But you will never treat an addiction unless you 100% want it.

With certain addictions impatient can be very valuable. Like meth, since the withdrawals can be very bad for a month or so. So being stuck in a treatment center while that is going on until your head clears up enough to think a bit more clearly is a good thing. You can also force people into treatment and have it be effective. Most addicts don't completely see how bad their own life is until they do sober up for a bit. Of course you usually get forced by a Judge.

However you will never get someone clean unless they want it. "kinda" wanting it doesn't count. You have to commit yourself 100% to changing your life. Like we all like to say about being a addict. "The <insert drug> wasn't my problem, I had that figured out. Life was my problem."

If you're working on getting clean and sober, good luck to you. It's a hard road, but in the end it can make you a truly wonderful person. The people I know who have 'beaten' there addictions tend to be far better people than people I know who never had a problem in the first place.

Yep, I do agree with this, but in the other post I don't think it's good to isolate yourself and do absolutely nothing although I have done that a lot. I found things like riding BMX that I used to love to do and got back into that which was great for exercise and stress relief. Stick with the good friends who don't need anything to have a good time and find something that's healthy and helps with stress. Working would be a good thing too to stay busy. EQ is a great thing as it's so community based and social, but I wouldn't just play all day every day as some people do. :P

I know it's probably getting more difficult because of the weather and that winter is coming. I would just find at least one good buddy that can chill with you and help keep you straight. The sickness alone should be enough to ward anyone that experiences it. ha. Shit is the worst.

I have 16 SK, 16 Wiz and 15 Bard and most likely will be sticking with the SK as my main. The names are Kaathe, Wizeguy and Aenamas respectively. So yeah I haven't gotten too high up yet on here, but have spread my time between characters.

Not to judge or anythin, If anyone's to judge somebody else for drug use it sure shoulden't be me, but Wow, Really? Teacher?!?!? When you said you were gonna be workin with Rog I believed ya. Thought you were trying to get a job as an assembly line worker or shelf stocker. No way I could pull off what is a professional job (or what I believe should be) such as a teacher. And to be quite honest I don't think I would want my kids in your class if I had any. May be able to do the job well off for awhile, but with the mix you got goin it won't last forever.

And I forgot to say I can't figure out how you got thru all the schooling / got the degree to even be considered as a teacher, unless you bypassed all that stuff cause you 'knew' somebody. Congrats if you did it the right way.

...Very well played. But why I and many others im sure actually bought into you being a teacher is beacuse sadly there are is an disgusting amount of teachers and doctors out there who I'm sure do what your doing, or worse, and actually get away with it for their whole career or much longer than they should. Wow, so much to say about this subject...wish I could edit my posts into 1 instead of 4
