If anyone subscribes to wowcrendor on YouTube you'll see he's bought so many packs of cards he's got about 2 copies of everything...and is close to a full set.

Online games are getting more and more sickening for pay to win. BF4 makes me laugh as well, everything that I'd call standard is now on "premium", if you don't subscribe you're basically on "free trial" status having bought the full game... shit's ridiculous.

greed's killin the industry sadly. proly 1 or 2 actually damn good, solid games come out every year now, but that's a guess from watching my friends play. nothing's really caught my interest except for dragon's dogma.

The difference there is there's absolutely no need to buy a LoL skin because you're not getting anything extra for gameplay. You can't buy a better character exclusive to members/VIPs only etc.

Hearthstone? Yeah you can. If you buy 200 packs of cards you can disenchant the extra unneeded copies for dust, which can then make "epic/legendary" cards with enough of it... so paying to get an advantage.

BF4? Priority queueing on servers? Exclusive weapons (coming in expansions) etc.

...bring back a flat rate subscription per month that has everyone on the same level [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Swish, I love you dude so don't take this the wrong way. IT'S A FUCKING CARD GAME. Card games have been heavily monetized since their very inception. That's just the nature of playing a card game, you spend a couple bucks on a few packs and open em up to see what you get so you can turn around and throw them in a deck and play vs some friends.

Yeah I can't sell Hearthstone cards on through eBay etc though. So there's no "collector" element to it... that's the difference, and why it doesn't work for me [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

That's actually a really good point. Do you know if there's trading in MTG:O? I haven't actually played the online version of magic.

There is. I just signed up on Friday. $100, many booster packs and sealed 6 booster tournaments later I am immersed as fuck in the new set Theros. I've gotten few mythic rare foils too, p fun.

In all honesty I think I'd be better off on MTG:O if I had the ££ to spend [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Question for everyone.

Should I throw down $$ for a MTGO account and do Sealed Deck tourneys for shits and giggles every now and then? I want to relive the magic days of my youth (97-00) during like 3rd edition. Will I achieve that fun?
terrible idea

they just cancelled all premiere level events, total waste now
