Quite true, and this is precisely what I meant in my previous comment: you are becoming his mirror image. I think I am going to abandon this particular . . debate? flamewar? Poop throwing? I suppose in a few more months I'll venture back into the cesspool of RNF.

Let me just leave you with one actual, real, point to raise the level of this discussion very slightly. It's quite easy to prove that governments will always favor businesses and special interest groups over 'the people'. Aside from the wealth of empirical evidence, you can make a simple logical argument starting from asymmetry of information and benefits.
Alarti and I established long ago that we more or less see eye to eye on political matters. My statement was more or less a joke in reminiscence of this strange time in my life.

I never questioned your statement that government favors businesses and special interests over 'the people' - whatever the latter may mean. I am merely pointing out that your claims are very entry level - the real question is WHY does government favor particular groups in society over others. To even begin to provide any semblance of an answer to this question, you need to leave the realm of superficial arguments which seek to show one side is 'bad' and one side is 'good' and start talking about how contemporary society organizes and reproduces itself.
