Also...

If they didn't want you to recast pets or charm. They would of changed it a long time ago.

Respect can suck a fat cock. Mobs health reaching 0% and doing it in a way that isn't an exploit (even if it's tooth and nail, nasty chain rezzing style) is still a fucking win.

This whole argument is like seeing someone get beat the fuck down in a street fight and saying "Oh, that guy cheated."

Get the fuck outta here.

Hmmm, i thought that boss mobs (cos they tagged differently to normal mobs) that with pets going on and if the boss mob is actually agro on the pet it would auto pop the pet, thats why on live you always have to have some kind of PC on it... maybe i was imagining things..

I'm just saying a win is a win, a loss is a loss.

If the ultimate goal is to kill a mob and get some phat lewts, it shouldn't matter what strategy is used. As long as rules aren't broken, than the objective was obtained.

I've been in raids where we literally had 6 players left standing and finished the mob. Was it pretty? Nope it was a super sloppy finish, and other people have done a better job at it but the mob still died.

What i mean was, cant have pet getting agro from boss because it would despawn your pet, thus why always needed PC on bosses. But perhaps a bad thing i said this because no more phinny if he sticks it on boss encounter script....

It could be true that pet aggro generation was considerably lower than a players, or maybe even split between the pet and it's owner. Thoughts?
I recall pets being able to tank for players as long as they could output more threat, I believe this was changed during velious when the strat for farming some quest mob or event at the SG zone of WW involved using a single summoned pet to tank. I am too lazy to check the vintage patch notes from that era to confirm though. For some reason I also think the reason for using a pet to tank was that healing a pet generated no agro to the cleric, which is also different from here.

Necro lifetap over time spells generate ridiculous amounts of hate on p99, and very frontloaded, whereas on live they behaved more like ignite blood in terms of agro. The heal portion of it was threat, but not like you heal yourself for the full amount the moment the spell lands whether you lack hp or not. That tidbit probably belongs in bugs, but as mentioned above I am lazy.

To my knowledge I don't think boss mobs attacking pets ever De-Aggroed them....

Shiiiit if only I had logs of the conversations I had like 6+ months ago that went like "I bet when Plane of Sky is released everyone will cry and get it nerfed to be easier than classic."

This is true. In classic your pets could tank for you if they provided more aggro.

Earth pets tanking in groups was NOT uncommon. Warriors had shit aggro and weren't able to pull aggro from mage pets.

It wasn't changed until pretty damned late on live and was never "fixed" here to be classic.
