It's helpful to glance through the player list located at http://www.project1999.org/forums/showthread.php?t=7523. It hasn't been updated in a bit, but it has people from the various servers and their former avatar names, etc...

I've already found a guy who i played with for years - he was even in the same guild as me and we raided together for some time. Was cool to meet up with him again.
