what about the 500-1000 incoming from eqmac that can't fit on the blue server and don't want to sign up for a toxic where they can't get manastones or de masks, i think teams gonna thrive, hopefully nihilum stays on red99 too that would be greatness
this. this. this.

mac users want manastones.

nilly wants a pixel wasteland.

everybody will be happy.

This is (or should be) a key factor for the staff. With Mac right about to end this is a huge opportunity to boost the project. Will these incoming players be content to shuffle into the current servers? Some of them, sure. Would we get more of them if they had a fresh server to play on? Absolutely.

If the staff really wants to capitalize on this they will bring teams out as soon as possible. Hopefully not prematurely, but it should be the priority over Velious.

Personally don't have a problem with the idea of T99. I just want them to release it on a correct timeline. If velious is anytime in the next 6 months they should release it and then release T99 4-6 months into velious. Red should be running with 300ish pop nightly with Velious which I think most can agreed it a nice number.

Then once Velious starts to wear on people and those not in the top guilds bore of it again they will have T99 waiting for them.

The worse thing they can do is release T99 and then have velious release anytime within 6 months of its release. The blue players who went to T99 would go back to blue and some of the ex red players would go back to red leaving T99 in a bad place.
Spoken like a pixel junkie.

NO ONE that quit Red99 due to it being a toxic wasteland is going to come back for Velious. The only people that may come back, are Nihilum who got bored killing Trak and VS for the 121st time and want to farm Velious uncontested.

Red99 needs to go quietly into the night, vanish without a fight, and make room for Teams99. Teams99 is A New Hope.

Red99 is and ALWAYS will be a wasteland going forward. No amount of 'new/returning blood' will stop the pixel train that EVERY FFA server proves to be. Mass inviting and only caring about Pixels is detrimental to EVERY emulated server due to sheer population numbers.

The best thing you can do is release Teams99 ASAP. Put it on an accelerated timeline, then Merge red/teams upon Velious release; keeping the Teams99 ruleset.

This is actually the worst thing they can do imo. I think we all learned the lesson of what happens when you rush to release a server that's only 1/2 finished with Red99. It didn't take very long for the 600-700 pop at server launch to plummet to ~50 people. That attrition was mostly due to lack of development on key things that should've been fixed in beta (guard assist, etc).

Dont make the same mistake twice.
