Worst EQ Camp Ever

I'm sure this has been done before, but let's do it again!

On Live, I once camped the Overseer Dal'guur for a month, every 20 mins for 20ish hours a day for a solid month. Got the mask eventually, but an awful experience waking up every half hour to rush to your computer to see... another veteran overseer.

Recently the absence of a ghoul assassin in Lower Guk for 6 hours straight made me wonder if the spawn was broken, all I wanted was the mask for my parked rogue. Got it eventually, but damn... the game makes it hard sometimes [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

I think it was in one of the last updates before luclin release, the chardok revamp comes near the end of velious. Overseer Dargul is awful Didn't time how long it took me but i did it off and on for a loooong time on my rog main and never got it. my bard alt got it in like 5 overseers.

ive heard of people doing what you did for 2-3 months and still didn't get one.

After oversser the worst classic is probably stormfeather, huge respawn time with a chance to skip spawning, tricky to get the timer down and its sitting in 1 spot in IC for hours upon hours doing nothing hoping it spawns.

In vanilla wow i ran inner maraudon 16 or 17 times straight in two days to get my inventors focal sword. You know the caster SWORD with +1 crit on it. I wanted it so bad because in everquest you cant be a mage with a sword. So i wanted it bad in WoW. Does that count?

Otherwise it would have to be idk...never did much camping. Kills the dwarfs in GD to turn in their heads for kael faction!

There was a caster wep with a scimitar graphic on it. Looked bad ass.

Think they changed it to a glowing fist in PoP tho.

My father in law would agree. He was one of the first epic mages on his server (forget which one), and still talks about begging trackers to help him. Also he would include camping jboots in Najena, and the 48 hours he waited for his turn to loot.

Personally, I would say the worst camp was Shield of Striding. Took me a couple of weeks of daily camping to finally get one.

Some other shitty camps, minus epic drops and in no particular order, are:

VT Shards (I always had decent luck, but other players not so much)
The various rare Tears from HoT in ToV (damn you Dozekar!)
Seru's Torque (I waited forever for the damn thing to drop)
Some PoP melee pet weapons (War and bard were PITAs)
Quest pieces for the Bangle of Disease Warding (mobs would spawn underground and I had no idea as a necro without track)

Oh snap, I forgot about Stormfeather. While I have never camped him (only melee I have played is a bst), I know plenty of players who would say this is the worst camp since the spawn time is so long, it has variance, and can skip spawns with no warning (no PH).

One RL friend from work spent an exorbitant amount of time camping SF, I am talking multiple days over several weeks with little to no sleep. He even started to force his GF and brother to camp it for him while he was at work. A week after he got his eye patch, my wife camped it on her War, and it took her just under 4 hours to get both SF and Lodi (the map was rotting). My wife still makes fun of him to this day.
