So how long do you have to wait for it to be legit? Tons of people have legitimate exemptions and constantly fast-switch - I see it all the time. How long must one wait to not be "exploiting" when eventually logging on their trader 55 seconds after /quitting on their main?

I'll eventually get my exemptions back - I will eventually need them. And I guess I'll just camp then to be beyond reproach

Sort of answered your own question huh. You use the /camp function as it is intended to be used. And if you dont like the chance of crashing you can always use '/camp server' to alleviate the possible crash at character select. Besides if you /camp server you will have no lockout even w/o an exemption and can log in any of your other toons as normal.
