Ya, but are they going to fix any of the real problems (resists, bugged spells, etc.) or is this just a switch to teams PvP? Personally, I don't see teams helping fix any of the glaring issues with the server other then forcing the dysfunctional Nihilum opposition forces onto the same team, and that won't change the fact that Nihilum will still be dominant.

For me and my wife, I don't see anyway we could play our current characters together on a teams PvP box without a race / religion change if transfers are allowed. That means we would have to re-roll, or transfer to blue if that is an option. I don't want to play on a blue server. Neither of us want to re-roll after investing time on our characters. Especially, with the risk of history repeating itself, and the new PvP server being fundamentally changed yet again. As I see it, that leaves us two options: 1) wait and see what PvP box wins, hoping for FFA, or 2) just quit.

Changing ruleset so you may not want to play anymore, but not a wipe!

We don't know the specifics or if this will be an issue or not. Just that they are thinking of a new server. May merge to or from it. The trial period is tentatively 6 months. Red is getting fixed first. They will try some cavalier things like custom item loot on the new server.

Really to much to speculate about to worry about it. But your chars will live through. I won't deny some casual players may get hurt by it in the long run. But thats speculation at this point. Might be good for you guys too. Your best bet for accurate information is to listen to Rogeans complete stream. This thread is going to roll over and over with people not reading prior posts, or arguing about facts. Likely going to get a bit of trolling. The pages up to "Free Tunaks" image should help answer what people "believe".

***Sirken had a short stream where he answered some questions and he is very considerate of not breaking up guilds/players.

Too much uncertainty about the future of the server / our characters has been introduced making "not worrying" difficult at best. What the devs should have done is fix the well known resists / PvP bugs everyone complains about first, launch velious, then do the current server slight of hand BS as a last resort.

As is, what is the motivation to keep playing on the FFA PvP server? The launch of the new teams PvP server will probably drain the FFA PvP server's population, making the teams PvP server the likely "winner." Current FFA server characters will be offered a transfer to blue (yay?), because that will be WAY easier then offering race / religion changes so friends / guilds aren't forced onto opposite teams.

I know there is no way to predict the future, what I outlined is simply what I believe to be the most likely scenario. I just don't know if I want to hang out in limbo, especially stuck in Kunark, waiting to find out what actually happens.

What I got from the stream is basically the plan of action you outlined. They just didn't do it in secret and instead wanted to talk about the new server. I think they may be pushing to do it earlier than Velious though.

Player's: Hey what about everything we've been asking in threads for year's like resist coding, clicks nerf's, variance?

Dev's: What couldn't hear ya, but did you hear about this new server!

Players: Let's go post 80 threads about our new teams server and forget how nothing actually got done!
