Nope. He specifically needs the A Torch that drops from magicians from Najena, or from the crocs in Cazic Thule. And that seems to be the most expensive one at the moment.

Personally, I picked up the Stein and Broom for 75 pp each the other day and completed the quests on my level 8 magician (now 14). The air pet is my fave as it's easier to outdamage him over fire and water, and he lets low health enemies do their death walk rather than fight back when rooted (earth pet). My opinion might change later as I level up further, but the focus items do indeed work from level 4 pets on.

Not the same thing. The Wiki is wrong, too.

The quest item is "A torch" and drops from goblin? mages in Najena and off crocs in CT.

Gonna do some Najena hunting tonight probably. Will give you a tell if I come across a torch.

Great, thank you. I am thinking about heading to Najena tonight as well, thinking at 16 I may be able to take the magicians now, but we'll see. I'll probably just end up losing a level lol.
