I never saw the value in keeping a shitload of plat on hand unless you're saving/holding for something specific, or formerly, if you wanted the ability to jump on an account trade. As a confirmed 1%er, most people are shocked to hear that I generally have less than 50k handy, if not being completely broke. I'd much rather have gear - outside of specific goals, plat doesn't do you any good.
