If you watch the gameplay footage where they are showing off the ridiculous whirlwind abilities, they call the little rat looking guys, getting raped by the thundercat, Kobolds so I guess they redesigned them.

EDIT: https://www.everquestnext.com/img/me...ts/large/6.jpg
lol is that just bland WoW ripoff or what? In EQ lore kobolds have always been "the dogs".

The people who invented the first space ships were brilliant. That doesn't mean anybody should actually want to use them 200 years later. Ideas are limited by means of execution. Everquest has amazing ideas that need to be completely reworked in their execution, in order for classic Everquest as it was envisioned to actually exist and continue to be relevant as things have evolved.

yeah, pretty ridiculous to change their 'style' when EQ already has a pretty defined kobold 'style'.

While I agree that EQ had their own definition of Kobold which I've known and loved, it's not a WoW ripoff to how they are changing it.

From the Monstrous Manual from 2nd edition D&D

Maybe they payed some license fees to WoTC. TBH a lil more DnD in EQ wouldn't be bad. But I liked the Ratonga in EQ2, thought it was much better then more "gnomes".

Everything has been redone... why make the kerrans some hulking lion type creatures?

Not classic.

Furries are obviously the untapped sleeper cell demographic.

You realize that is a picture of the "Dogbolds" of D&D, right? Seems like they're trying to get away from that.

Of course, the thing with EQNext is that it takes place in the past, and we've also seen that the Dark Elves once had horns because of dragon blood. Races change form over time.

Here's the same picture I posted earlier except with the page entry as well, says Kobold right there.

Regardless where they're taking their kobolds they still retain the same body shape and posture, which is what is so iconic with them. You're right though, they're certainly a lot less dog-like and have become dragon-kin. I actually prefer that a lot more.

Nah thats a complete bastardization of lore to mesh with Vanguard players and suck a few up (that what Vanguard DE's were).

Also in Nazi America, religions specifically centered around hate are to be frowned upon in media. Probably got a letter or even phone call from Omamma (doubt NSA greps that yet) about not doing that again. Their catering to a PG audience with this EQ. Slutty mages A.Ok. Hate bad. (This is actually a step in the right direction socially all-be-it completely fucked up in perspective)
