fucking spoiler alert next time goddamnit.
Sorry again, but just wanted to say, there are a lot of ways this can be interpreted. I just mean in a way that they both make you think, which I love when any movie does. Still very worth seeing.

Oh dang, I forgot that came out this weekend. I'll have to see if it's on the IMAX here.

Glad to know it was good, but I won't return to this thread until after I've seen it, lol

Dude this movie is 100% worth it. Saw it in Imax last weekend. Leo can be a bit dramatic for my tastes, but I give it the official thumbs up. All around, cool story, gets you pretty involved and you'll be into it, some discrepancies in how it all works if you wanna nerd out :P And of course Imax/Surround Sound just makes it look/feel epic. Yes, good movie, need to see again.

I was way too high for this movie. It was pretty spectacular though. I understood the gist of the movie but want to take a second look at it to digest the tech within the movie and if it stands up to scrutiny. Nice ride anyhow, was worth my 8 bucks.

Looking at IMDB the movie scores a 9.4 out of 10, but when you read the bad reviews, it seems like the movie is really, really aweful. Reviews criticizing a movie are generally informative and honest, they are usually trying to help you from wasting time. reading both good and bad reviews on IMDB, it seems like the good reviews have nothing real to say about the movie, except that its was good (even in this thread, what was good about it besides the graphix), the bad reviews seem to go like this

"I'm trying very hard to be fair here. Given my high expectations and all the praise, it's hard not to bite back. So I'll temper my initial review ("Sitting through Inception was more disappointing and more frustrating than discovering my first girlfriend was cheating on me") with this one: "Inception buried everything that I might have loved about it 10 feet under things that were terrible."

"This film is downright boring. I literally almost fell asleep at a noon showing. I also almost walked out 35 minutes before it ended; I simply did not care about any of these characters. The effects are neat, and look pretty great, but the story is so asinine that... wait, no, the story isn't asinine, its execution is."

People generally say the execution of the move was terrible, the actors didn't act like real people, you didnt care about the characters (a trend in today's film's)(compare the original star wars to the later ones, watch these reviews if you havent seen it yet http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FxKtZ...ayer_embedded#! The points thats this dude makes seems to ring true in every modern movie), the story was over complicated, the action scenes were cliche, etc. etc.

Can anyone read through the negative reviews in IMDB or something, and try to convince me that this movie is not a waste of money??? : D
IMHO for those that hated it it was either

a)completely not your personal movie style
b)they just don't have the imagination to suspend their beliefs & fall head first into the "what if" kinda place this movie will take you
c) they just didn't GET it, the twists and turns were too complicated for them to grasp

Have a friend I went & saw it with, who has friends who have already seen it 5x trying to figure it out. Um.

But yeah, it rocked on many levels. The characters were as believable as they could get given we've only got what 2 hours to get to know them?

Generally I won't go by ANYTHING a professional "reviewer" says. Some of my fav movies are ones that supposedly everyone would hate & SURPRISE! almost everyone who saw it loved it.

5 stars here.

Thank you for defining reasons for why people didn't like the movie as if it were required that people knew these things. I thought the movie was okay - some of the reasons you mentioned - but mostly because the movie tried to be more serious/emotional then it really was. The music, now Nolan knows how to incorporate sound.

Just saw it today. I thought it was fantastic. Hard to find a movie these days that isn't just a rehash of a rehash of an old idea. I do however see how some of the more simple minded individuals would say it was overly complicated and hard to follow. There are a lot of things going on in the movie, usually all at the same time. But I had no trouble whatsoever keep up. As for unbelievable characters, I totally disagree. At some points I found myself really caught up in the suspense directly due to the characters involved. I am not much of a reviewer, but I thought it was definitely worth the admission price.
