By reading the last few post, some people are agaist the MQuesting and it seems those agaist it might be the only ones making massive profits from it lol. I think everyone should be granted the same oppunity to EARN there epic rather then sit in EC collecting plat to buy there epic...same item in the end yes but the adventure has been completely removed...such a shame a few limited number of people are allowed to get there hands on it (Im mostly talking about epic MQs)

Ill vote to nerf MQing any day to help the community.

No, no, we need to see what new people think, bold commentaries by newbs should be encouraged. After a few months he'll either be assimilated or have left in disgust. This is the only way we find out just how fucked up this server is from the perspective of a new member of the community. We already know how it's fucked up from the perspective of the various factions of bitter vets that post here.

When new people routinely see the server like the OP describes, I'd say it's a problem. And judging by the regularity we see threads like this one started by disappointed newbs, it does seem to be the routine newb experience here. Kinda like starting EQ during PoP woulda been on live, and gee, PoP era is when the live population seemed to stagnate.
So after one week, he has an opinion on how multi-questing has affected his game play? I've been in CB recently as I've been playing my level 11 completely untwinked cleric. No one inspected me. I just guilded a untwinked rogue who was grouped in CB at the time. Just what multi-quested item was ruining his chances of playing in CB? Something is not right with his post.

I started in January, well after most of you. I have had no problem leveling my characters. Druid to 51, Cleric to 56. Something might be fucked up, but it's not the server.

I type this while I'm sitting with my guild mate at the "impossible to get" AC camp in So Ro. Shocking, I know.

to get that loot and

And I would bet you were in one of the top 2 or 3 guilds to get it also. Just like you have to be on here. And you played a LOT to get that loot and to stay in that guild.

No way in hell you are telling me that you were high enough in Kunark to go to L Guk and Seb with pick up groups to get a Fungi, Maybe a FBSS, lucky as hell roll, T staff in KC etc. And get your Epic. You were in a TOP END guild and played till your ass fell off. Or pulling my leg big time. Or have one hell of a bad memory. Not even mid Velious.
Yes I was in the 2nd best guild on the server, But I didn't get my fbss or fungi from them. They helped me with my epic sure, and the raid loot from AoW yes. But I actually did farm my FBSS originally with just a random group until I received better via raid. You may find it hard to believe, but even in velious I still went back to lower guk and farmed everything from magi, frenzy etc that I could. Maybe it was partially out of nostalgia, or boredom.

But It was probably nothing like the blue server, which alongside red is frozen in time in kunark era for longer then it should be. There are 2 easy ways to gear your character up, especially when it comes to hard to get items. 1) farm lots of items/plat and save until you can afford X item, 2) take a group and go camp it. 2a) if you can't camp it because a 60 is poopsocking the FBSS camp solo for hours at end your SOL, roll red so you can kill them. We have no issues with camps here.

Define need. I'm serious bro. Define "need" in a video game. Now for extra credit, describe to us a way that your "need" can be verified, a method that cannot be trivially and undetectably scammed via alts.

Alternatively, go read what Plato tells us Socrates had to say about justice. Maybe that will help you see the real scope of the problem you foolishly imagine your silly undefinable and unenforceable NBG trope helps us to solve.

v0v

I've seen plenty of stupid shit much like the OP reports when playing untwinked alts. Seen plenty of morons opining at length about how awful it is to group with non-twinks and hybrids while playing my warrior twink. His anecdotes are every bit as valid as yours and mine. Honestly, you remind me of my brother and sister who insist that racial discrimination is over in the US because they never encounter it in their lily white suburban lifestyles.

hmm... Reread my post and not seeing the "go ape shit" bit. You might want to take a couple deep breaths before your next post.

NBG doesn't work in the general case, it fails because people lie, they lie often, they lie to people they call their friends.

I abide by whatever loot position the rest of the group takes. I've certainly have passed on many items that I knew were upgrades for others, although I can't be 100% certain that they hadn't sold a better piece at some earlier time. I've seen players do the "I camped all my stuff" routine and have it turn out multiple times that it really meant "I saved all my pp & cash loots for my twinks because I can get randoms in PUGs to equip my main by claiming need".

NBG can work in a guild context, but only if being a member of the guild is more desirable to the potential liar/cheater than the pixels they're drooling after. Lotta toons in high end guilds who parasited off earlier guilds (either the player hopped guilds or the account was sold/traded), rewarding that shit is the real crime of the TMO's of this world against their server communities.

Final point: It's all greed. You play how you like and I hope you have a good time doing so, but don't expect me not to laugh at the notion of dressing up any player's pixel greed by calling it need. It's all greed.
