How do you drop an item? Seems like it just stays on my cursor.

If you click on the ground with the item on your cursor it will ask you if you want to drop it. Also it could have dropped by accident if they didnt have enough slots open for items they were receiving in a trade. I PM'd the person that listed the correct item but havent heard back from them.. and no the item wasnt worth more then 500pp.

If you're doing something with spam clicking (maybe with a tradeskill or when trying to open trade with someone who was "busy"), it's possible to click on open ground and get the drop confirmation box with the "Yes" option right where your cursor is. And since you were spam clicking, you might not even notice the box popped up and suddenly your item is gone.
