Thanks I appreciate the responses, I really should have searched but it never crossed my mind when I ran into the problem.

As for the issue. That seriously has to suck. Would a dev explain what the problem is? I may be able to help with it. I have been in development/troubleshooting for almost 30 years.

I love the "fix" below (A) for a known account based issue with the 2 eq clients that made me lol!

The "B" setup a new account is good idea except there is no guarantee is will not happen again if this is account based issues within the code or db.

Anyway Thanks again!

9a. Whenever I try to enter the server/gameworld, I get Error 1018 saying that I have a character currently connected. Wtf?

This is a known issue, and unfortunately, there isn't an easy solution. If you're having this problem you have two options:

A) Leave your current EQ install, and also reinstall EQ to a new directory, so that you have two EQ installs. Set up the new install like you would normally, and alternate between the two installs to see if that fixes the problem. This is not guaranteed to work. If it doesn't you can either be patient (this issue does eventually resolve itself, but tends to happen again when you least want it to. If you're having this issue, i *highly* recommend cutting your losses, and moving to solution b before you come to invested in your character)

or

B) Set up a new account. This problem is account specific, and even if the issue is resolved it can happen again. That's why i recommend ditching your account now before you get to level 50 and start having this problem when it really matters. Once you've made a new account, you shouldn't have this problem again.

Sorry, but that's really all we have at this point. If you find a better solution, *please* let me know so I can post it here.
