Default Blank Screen on startup

After doing everything in the setup thread, everything appeared to be going smoothly. However, every time I click on the shortcut to start EQ, the game starts and immediately goes to a black screen with the golden cursor, and stays there (at least for about 5 minutes, I didn't get an error message). I've done just about everything I've seen on the forums regarding changing resolutions around, starting in 640x480, compatibility mode, etc. and it still just goes to a black screen in whatever resolution I have it set to until i tab out and close it.

OS is Windows 7
GPU Radeon 4890
CPU i7 920

I'm running two monitors at 1680x1050, if that might have anything to do with it.

Have the same problem, dual monitors with Windows 7 64-Bit, fixed it by disabling 2nd monitor but would like to play with both monitors enabled, will try the alt+enter and see if it'll work.
