I'm up to date with it actually. All 8 seasons :T I wish they could recreate what made the first seasons good by using different plotlines but I agree it's saturated with repetitiveness.
Due to the early season episodes having considerably good plots, it bought them some slack and much earned respect to the point where you can tolerate the repetitiveness as being just an inevitable ; as opposed to lazy writing or lack of passion. There's only so much they can do forever.

As for Defiance, it's awful. Poor sets, CGI,; worse dialog and acting. Ridiculous stereotypes and completely overshadowed by too much BSG influence simply for luring in viewers.

Defiance is the quintessential example of the 'Sy Fy' network. As soon as they changed the name to be more hip, it was all down hill.

.

what are you talking about? Supernatural was very average in the beginning with their random monster of the week plots. It didn't started to get good until they got into long multy-season archs and writing up their own demonic lore, rather than rehashing on oh-so-common and ultra redone themes like wendigos and vamps.

The people who invented the first space ships were brilliant. That doesn't mean anybody should actually want to use them 200 years later. Ideas are limited by means of execution. Everquest has amazing ideas that need to be completely reworked in their execution, in order for classic Everquest as it was envisioned to actually exist and continue to be relevant as things have evolved.

The Fresh Prince of Bel Air.

Also, Metalocalypse on adult swim is surprisingly hilarious.

I guess we disagree. I rather enjoy short stories in lieu of drawn-out impossibility archs. With the monster of the week plots, there is at least a small possibility they could survive each episode. By season 4, there's just no way. I guess what I'm saying is.. they hunt and fight monsters. When they are fighting the King of Hell, Lucifer, and the Leviathans, it was a little much. Still watching it though.
