The project99 wiki has a zones section, which includes maps too.
Unlike alot of the later games, eq didn't really have much of quests. You won't be relying on quests to level. Unfortunately, the first few levels are pretty slow too, unless you're twinked out or power levelled. You can find some of the quests listed in the p99 wiki, and some also at allakhazam. For right now, it may be faster for you to level in a group. You may be able to find some at your level in the commonlands, or take the boat out to butcherblock or gfay.
