Seems zone specific to Kurn's Tower for me. Other characters log in fine.

They're saying to delete both UI files attached to the character that crashes as a "fix".

If that's the cause of the crash, you don't need to delete your entire UI files. Go to charname_project1999.ini and find the [Hotbuttons] section. Then delete the ones with the page/button combo that you had mapped to your pet window commands. I could be wrong, but I think the mapped values of the ones you want to delete are I1-I6.
