Never said it was hard ;p

I will say it is extremely fragile though ~

why do people think this? IMO their most basic unit (zealot) is much worse than any others, based on how slow they are. it is extremely easy to kite an army of lots with half as many marines or just run past said army with a bunch of zerlings. i feel that protoss requires the player to balance economy and spending much more than the other races since the units cost so much more. i don't feel that any race is easier than the others; OP, if you want to be good, just roll as random and learn every race.

That's why you get chargelots. And your starting army should always include quite a few sentries if you are going up against terran/zerg to force field and prevent zerglings from being able to surround, roaches to split their force in half, marines/marauders to split their force in half.

Zealots are weak against being kited but thats why you need sentries to go along with them.

No, protoss micro is fairly simple and straight forward.
The reason I said protoss is the best newbie race is because micro does not matter at all as a newbie. 99% of the people you face will a-move units (this is true until mid masters) and focusing more on macro will allow you to improve much quicker.

Protoss macro mechanic is simply a lot more forgiving than terran or zerg.
