Every time I see a thread that has potential discussion it turns into who did what when to whom or why we are better than you.

Looking forward to comments on the original post.

The reason EQ will never be a well designed and balanced game in PVP is because it was never designed or balanced for PVP.

Lite was the single only reason I would never join his guild. I don't want him in charge of anything, or making choices. His entire time on the box, I never wanted him to lead. I don't want in on a mass guild in ToV either. Hello PDM pals =)

If I wanted to lead a guild to compete in the long-term with Empire, I'd put the guild together to do some 2nd tier raids, oldworld and Kunark stuff, zealously boot the rabble-rousers and smack-talkers and griefers out, and negotiate a time-limited peace with Empire strictly in regards to raids. Keep up a stable diplomatic channel between the guilds to handle any conflicts that arise, renegotiate the terms of peace on a schedule, and then eventually allow the peace to expire and compete directly via PVP or celerity for Velious raid targets. People that are treated with respect and maturity will typically respond in kind...

My instincts have always been for peace and diplomacy. I find that it is much more effective than direct Rams-In-Spring confrontation, especially from the point of view of the weaker party.

All I'm saying is, if Empire's hegemony has been so well-established, so long-term, and all y'all on the outside are wringin' yer hands over that fact, perhaps it's time to try a slightly different tactic from the /ooc poop flinging and forumquesting... Melding all the little awesome pvp guilds into one gigantic miasma of peen-fueled brinksmanship is NOT the ticket, such guilds inevitably devolve into cliques, blamefesting, and dissolution.

Otherwise, you can all be Chinese and play at really strange hours. Worked pretty well for the Peacebreakers vs. Ascending Dawn on RZ back in the day, prolly work here too [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Classic was the only real PvP this box ever saw. You could log on and have instant constant zone control fights in guk / sol b where people went at it without a fuck about YT or plugging. Was tons of fun. Kunark turned the box into a zone hugging fest and fights where people were in deep annoying spots to get to that made PvP not fun.
