Hell if I know but wasn't there some point where melee types did get 1 pt or so of channeling? I've got about 4.3 neurons firing off in some memory bank saying this was so but...

Melee's never had channeling. Quit asking for more custom shit that will f the server up. By going pure melee you are basically choosing to get 100% owned by any caster until you get resist in 1v1 situations. After you get resist, you'll only get 95% owned in 1v1 situations. Pure melee's need to fight in groups or indoors to be viable in classic pvp.
