Have you ever received the "Error 1018 - Active character" error?
If yes, how often? Regardless of that answer, I suggest re-installing the game. This exact same thing happened to my relatively new account. My friend was able to access my character from his computer. After re-installing, I was able to access the character but was plagued with the 1018 error. It was clear my account was faulty. I created a new account and have not had issues. You may not have to create a new account if the re-install solves the issue. | ||

Haven't gotten any errors, the client just does not respond. I've considered reinstalling, but I don't know about a whole new account of only one of my characters is having issues. All of my other characters can zone into EC just fine.
