Hi

I might be running the Best of the Best tournaments soonish. I want to do one BotB Tournament for each expansion.

Just throwing this post up to get some ideas for the rules. Does anyone have a copy of the rules from Live's BOTB Tournaments? It disallowed the use of certain item clicks, etc. Also what was the fee to participate?

I know the typical setup was 30 second buff period then engage.

Any other information is helpful.

Thanks

Each player was stripped of all buffs, via mass dispell from GM.
You must stay on the top part of the platform in Arena.
Each player had X time to buff, forget exact time.
Players could only "use" equipable item clickies and were NOT allowed to item swap once the match had begun.
Stuff like /disc. LoH and HT were allowed but if your next round came up before the timer was up that was somthing you risked, the GM would not reset them.

Other than this info. For 1v1, big decision would probably be: To have set gear, or use what you have. Set gear removes the advantage raid guilds have(mostly) on casual players. But "Use what you have" allows people to show how much work they put in their character as well.

Personally I'm for set gear.
Just my 2 coppers.

In the Shadowknight tourney the GM /kill'd us to reset our HT.

Was it on E'ci or some other server, in the Necro tourney, to protest necro uselessness in raids, two guys just stood there twitching each other.

It was E'ci. I remember the chatter about it. I was a dwarven cleric (Clerics of Norrath ~ An all healing guild) as my main (Maewyn). Good times. My rogue was in Arbiters up to 60. E'ci and FV were great servers.

Nice memory bump. Glad I found this server last week. Nice to relive it.
