Best of the Best

Hi

I might be running the Best of the Best tournaments soonish. I want to do one BotB Tournament for each expansion.

Just throwing this post up to get some ideas for the rules. Does anyone have a copy of the rules from Live's BOTB Tournaments? It disallowed the use of certain item clicks, etc. Also what was the fee to participate?

I know the typical setup was 30 second buff period then engage.

Any other information is helpful.

Thanks

Each player was stripped of all buffs, via mass dispell from GM.
You must stay on the top part of the platform in Arena.
Each player had X time to buff, forget exact time.
Players could only "use" equipable item clickies and were NOT allowed to item swap once the match had begun.
Stuff like /disc. LoH and HT were allowed but if your next round came up before the timer was up that was somthing you risked, the GM would not reset them.

I imagine bards are to sing everything or does item switching apply to them?

I competed in a Kunark BotB with my wizard on Luclin (kicked ass too I might add); I don't seem to recall a "buff period"..

It was ready set go... stun + nuke + stun + nuke etc ...

GM's ported you outside of the arena, stripped all buffs - zoned you back in and yea you had to stay on the pad.

Wasn't there a Team BotB as well?

Yea the team BotB came before the 1v1 I believe. The BotB evolved as it reached new classes, buffing period may have not applied to Wizards.

Can we get last man standings and Test of Tactics first?

Last Man Standing = FFA (60+ people) whoever was the last standing, won.
Test of Tactics = 6 v 6 tactical PVP. (No resses etc)

Weren't rezes available? I was thinking that if someone could get one off, that it was fair game, but no one ever let a cleric alone for that long anyways. Can't remember, I only ever watched em.

Are you looking to do one before or after PoSky? :-)

Also, some events like a Last Man Standing, or maybe a guild war (red vs blue) type thing may be fun and help test out some more PvP bugs before we get to the SERIOUS BUSINESS of Best of the Bests :-)

Rogues would own this, or a bard. Just run for hours or sneak/hide away from everyone.

A mage won ours on Tunare. After so many people die the Arena was limited to platform only.

imo class vs class 1v1 until final brackets - because it the end its almost certain a caster will win with current melee dmg bug.=p
