I concur with monk. Melee in general benefit more from high-quality gear at low levels than casters do, and monks in particular were at the height of their power as a class during the Kunark-Velious era.

If platinum is truly no object (along the lines of you keep a backup prenerf stick on your EC alt "just incase," you use gate pots because you're too lazy to look for ports, etc.), any melee will be ridiculous. Which is the most fun, though, depends on the person.
Of course, with that kind of pp, enchanters, shamans, and necromancers will end up about as crazy as a melee, especially if solo/duo is your kind of thing. Clerics get crazypowerful with a lot of money too, but I don't think most people would consider that to be as much fun. | ||
