I brought the battery to Auto Zone to have it tested after jumping it wouldn't do anything. They charged it overnight, and got a bad read on it this morning. Bad battery was just bad.

And lol if you think I didn't try to get a windshield for it. Because its an old car and because Acura parts are hard to find in the first place, it was going to cost $800+ dollars. I called at least 40 junkyards looking for any kind of window that would fit, and the only one anyone could find was in china or some shit.

autostoned is in the business of selling batteries and is staffed by moron stoners that wish they were mechanics but are not, if you still have your old battery open it, you live in new mexico and said the car had been sitting for 8 months.

that means there is a 90% likelihood it is low on water and/or electrolyte, which in turn means that it will never hold a charge no matter how long the idiots at autozone leave it on their machine. fill each cell with distilled water, shake it up and charge it on the 10 amp setting for a day and the battery will be fine unless it is the same battery that came with the car.

if you cant find a window getting a piece of plexiglass cut and ****** rigging it into position with a few bolts and some window foam would make the car a lot more attractive to buy than one with nothing at all in the back, most people are not going to buy a car with a gaping hole in the back, prob wont even pass inspection as it is currently.

as an aside car batteries are the biggest rip off in the auto parts industry the overwhelming majority of the time the battery is fine and just needs a top off and a charge, why do you think they encourage you to bring your old one in to recieve the "20 dollar core charge discount? so they can take the core out, put it in a shiney new plastic holder squirt fresh juice in and sell it to another asshole that doesnt know anything for 100+ bucks thats why.

lets analyze what a battery is, it is a block of lead with dilluted sulfuric acid in it and thats about it.

batteries go "bad" when they......

1> are used on a car with a shitty alternator that does not properly recharge the battery when it is in use

2> sit for a long time, expecially if left on the ground and are allowed to let their charge drain.

3> are in a dry hot climate and the water evaporates leaving it low

4> have been topped off to many times with water and not had any of the acid/electrolyte replaced to keep the ratios in check.

5> are over charged and the solution inside boils out, ruining the electrolyte, oxidizing the lead and making the water low.

6> are so old when you look inside the lead is white instead og gray

all but number 6 is fixable with minor effort

it had been sitting in the New Mexican weather for about nine months without being started.

yeah, so all you had to do was fill it up with water, maybe a pack of electrolyse powder and charge it up for a day.

file it away for future reference and dont waste money on batteries.
