I would say the "The 15+ years the car has been in my family, it has never had any mechanical issues." sentence definitely implies to knowledgeable users that this car probably requires mechanical work now and if not now, which would be seemingly impossible, then definitely in the near future.

Was just trying to imply that I've never had problems with it thus far. I think it's pretty inevitable that for any car, especially one that is 20+ years old, that you are going to have to put some work into it eventually.

With the cosmetic damages, I needed to fluff up the post as much as I could.

My retardo apartment complex is not allowing me to park it in the parking lot anymore because of the cosmetic damages. Because I live right next to campus, everything around me is permit-parking only, so I really need to get it off my hands before they start boot/towing ugly cars in March.

WTS, PST.

So bummed I just had to put a new battery in it. Was not wanting to dump $100+ into a car I am trying to get rid of.

Guess it's my fault for not starting the thing for the past eight months, though. QQ.

acura/honda are notoriously bad with batteries, especially when you let them sit. everytime ive bought one (like 5x) is first thing replaced.

They are tanks tho also 90% of anyone who buys that is an enthusiast who is going to put work into it anyway. Personally I'd come by kick the tires and offer 2/3 the price tho because of condition and I am a messianic jew.

your old battery was fine, you could have topped off the cells with distilled water and recharged it with the 25 dollar harbor freight battery charger that you prob don't have but should.

also spending 30 bucks on a back window at a junkyard, 5 dollars on some adhesive strips and putting it in yourself instead of paying mexicans to do the exact same thing for 200 bucks would allow you to resonably ask 1200+

all in all not bad for nearly 2 million miles i suppose

Shannacore 02-26-2012 12:39 PM

I brought the battery to Auto Zone to have it tested after jumping it wouldn't do anything. They charged it overnight, and got a bad read on it this morning. Bad battery was just bad.

And lol if you think I didn't try to get a windshield for it. Because its an old car and because Acura parts are hard to find in the first place, it was going to cost $800+ dollars. I called at least 40 junkyards looking for any kind of window that would fit, and the only one anyone could find was in china or some shit.

I cant believe you havent put up like a tarp electric tape set up or something for the backwindshield.

Darwoth 02-26-2012 12:49 PM

autostoned is in the business of selling batteries and is staffed by moron stoners that wish they were mechanics but are not, if you still have your old battery open it, you live in new mexico and said the car had been sitting for 8 months.

that means there is a 90% likelihood it is low on water and/or electrolyte, which in turn means that it will never hold a charge no matter how long the idiots at autozone leave it on their machine. fill each cell with distilled water, shake it up and charge it on the 10 amp setting for a day and the battery will be fine unless it is the same battery that came with the car.

if you cant find a window getting a piece of plexiglass cut and ****** rigging it into position with a few bolts and some window foam would make the car a lot more attractive to buy than one with nothing at all in the back, most people are not going to buy a car with a gaping hole in the back, prob wont even pass inspection as it is currently.
