No shit your friends from broke-ass third world countries are ignorant. I'm not interested in living there or here.

My skills and degree are both useful but an undergraduate degree doesn't mean shit no matter what it is. Even less from a US institution, though I am lucky enough to have a big name on mine. I'm not willing to wade deeper into US debt enslavement to get a Ph.D here, so I have the less simple task of supporting myself in a foreign country with a BS.

I'll probably be going the exchange english teaching route anyway, humiliating though it is to be lumped in with people who jerked off in libarts for 4 years, for use as a springboard to Ph.D. It's going to set me back a couple of years, but I suppose I'll make them back in saved trouble by researching in a country where biological research isn't a constant political struggle.

Just curious which countries you are interested in that aren't broke ass or full of ignorant folks? I mean Australia always seemed like a cool place to live to me but those motherfuckers are cracking down on one of a man's essential needs. Porn.

I think one of the big advantages you have here over other countries is the fact that politics while ridiculous tend to be fairly stable here. Sure there are a ton of bullshit laws enforcing a morality that the majority have no real interest in, and yes I could do without some of the taxes. But in reality, in my 33 years of life I have yet to experience any political change that had even a moderately drastic effect on the way I live or enjoy life. I don't know if the same could be said for other places. My experience is probably fairly slanted though as I have never had difficulty finding a job and obviously I am both white and male lol.

Anyway, good luck with your search, if you can find a better place to make you happier, more power to you. I hope things work out for the best. While I don't find myself sympathizing with your situation; I don't begrudge anyone the opportunity to do what makes them happier (obv not at the expense of someone else : P).
