This is pretty true. And not only is silence considered "violence" by activists, polite disagreement is also "violence". And then they go "well you're being violent therefor I can respond with *actual*, physical violence". This is an extremely dangerous concept to capitulate to.

I think this is all a sign that when a society becomes extremely abundant and prosperous, and everyone's lives are generally comfortable, people lose a sense of purpose and create pseudo-religious ideologies to give them a sense of identity. It's really pretty understandable. Like, people in the congo aren't exactly concerned about pronouns at the moment.

If you don’t have the bottom, nothing above matters

Then again, the Joker was proven wrong in Batman, wasn’t he? But would RL have played out the same way with the same scenario? I hope so
