Due to recent events here it has become plain and obvious that some posters here have legit issues. I don't wish to be associated with these sorts of issues or be the guy who is butchering them because that is sad and these people are suffering. I can't keep a blind fold on anymore and just assume its internet lulz. These boards might be all they have in life. It's also bled into my real life due to how social media has changed, its not acceptable for fun anymore

This is pretty true. And not only is silence considered "violence" by activists, polite disagreement is also "violence". And then they go "well you're being violent therefor I can respond with *actual*, physical violence". This is an extremely dangerous concept to capitulate to.

I think this is all a sign that when a society becomes extremely abundant and prosperous, and everyone's lives are generally comfortable, people lose a sense of purpose and create pseudo-religious ideologies to give them a sense of identity. It's really pretty understandable. Like, people in the congo aren't exactly concerned about pronouns at the moment.
