"unresolved" quests

Ok I found my way to Carson McCabe, but he doesn't seem to respond to anything. He's listed as a quest NPC on Allakhazam, but doesn't have any quests linked to him.

I'm tempted to hand him the two staff segments. But he might eat them.

otherwise, I think the guy in Tox might be able to fix the staff for us. Because he's the guy that makes the Peacekeepers staff, which is from the quest leading to this quest.

Also, I can't get to Brollus Hoost in Kithicor, because Kithicor has undead walking around day and night. So we have to wait till Kithicor is fixed.

And I have no idea how we were supposed to know about Brollus or Tallus (or the staff segments) yet if you follow the quest line.

Our only bit of information that should help us further at the moment is:

Lumi Stergnon says 'In the mountain keep called High Hold, we have heard there is a person hiring mercenaries for an attempt to obtain a High Guard battle staff. We are missing one of our staffs and believe this person has it. Go to Highpass Hold and find this person. Return the High Guard battle staff to me!'

On Allakhazam they jump straight to Tallus in East Karana, which means they skipped at least one step. I'm sure we are supposed to talk with Lady McCabe first (but she hasn't spawned), because she seems to be the one who hired Brollus Hoost to steal the staff as a gift for Carson McCabe, possibly to fix their relationship, considering Mistress Anna.

Did you try asking the weapons collector something about his collecting? "What kind of weapons do you collect?" "I hear you are a weapons collector?" etc.

Good idea, I'll try that with Carson McCabe sometime. However, according to the quest line we are not supposed to know about McCabe or his collection of weapons yet. All we know is that someone in HHK is hiring mercenaries to get the weapon.

I was waiting for Lady McCabe to spawn to ask about mercenaries and of course the staff. Since I'm pretty sure she is the one hiring mercenaries. I also thought of somehow trying to find out her real name and asking around in Erudin. "Lady McCabe" sounds so secret. I don't think Lady is her first name and she got her last name from Carson. The guy giving the quest in Erudin didn't respond to "Lady McCabe".

Misstress Anna isn't very helpful either. If you ask her about "Lady McCabe", she tells me to not mention her name. Maybe she is hiring the mercenaries though, but Lady McCabe is eritude and Anna doesn't like eritudes. So Anna wouldn't want to give an eritude staff to Carson I think.

If anyone reads about this quest, don't kill any named quest NPC in HHK please, especially not Lady McCabe :P

I think someone originally planned for druids to have the option of choosing sides with the Unkempt at the expense of Surefall Glades faction. With possible rewards in store...
