so class bonuses remain (rogue/war) and race penalties/bonuses remain?

That is correct. Verant provided a lengthy and heavily detailed post the day they removed class penalties, which included how experience was calculated pre and post XP Penalty removal. IIRC they stated that they did not see a need to remove the war/rog boost, as the classes were at a major disadvantage from a solo perspective.

What I want to know is what class race combo was OP and I'd like to hear some stories about how he always thought leveling was impossible in this game when he was a kid
